CHURCH SERVICES

To-morrow will be observed in St. Andrew’s Church as Communion Sunday and annual Thanksoffering Day. The Rev. D. J. A. Shaw will be the preacher and will take as the subject of his evening address; “The Church in the Modern World.” Miss Steele, L.A.8., will be the soloist. There will be a supplementary Communion service alter the evening service for those unable to attend in the morning. All Bible classes meet at 2.30. In the Hastings Methodist Church to-morrow, both services will be conducted by the Rev. R. B. Gosnell. The morning subject will be, “Thou Art— Thou Shalt Be,” and the anthem, •■Open the Gates of the Temple.” For the evening subject the speaker will imagine himself to be a member of the congregation and will speak on “Sermons That Would Keep Me Awake.” The anthem will be “Across the Bar,” unj a solo will be rendered by Miss Joyce Symonds. The new hymn book will be introduced by the choir, and all arc welcome to both services. Holy Communion at 8.15 closes the clay > worship. In the Baptist Church to-morrow lhe Lev. C. B. Loggia will conduit both services and in the morning will continue the studies on “The Portrait of the Christian Who Loves.” The ordinance of the Communion will be observed at the close of this service. In the evening at 7 the subject is entitled “The Eye That Never bleeps.” There will be choir anthems at these services and the evening soloist will be Miss M. Sowersby. The church will | 1(; heated. A cordial welcome is extended to all. During the past week, the serilees conducted in the Apostolic Church, Warren street, by Pastor I. E. Grabham, of Wales, was very much blessed, and a real time of fellowship was experienced. The subjects dealt with were “The Christian’s Service” and “The Christian’s Privileges.” This coming week is being looked forward to with much expectation, when other inspiring messages will be given by the pasion (Please mite announcement elsewhere.) The Corps Cadets, under the leadership of .Sister Mrs Holloway, will take part in all services. Special singing, papers ano addresses will be given by these young people. The Whukatu outpost service will be conducted by Brother S. riumley. The services in the Havelock North Presuyteiian Church will be conducted by the Rev. R. Waugh, morning and evening in Havelock and afternoon at Poukawa. Mr. Bott will conduct the morning service at Clive.
