COLOUR ON SCREEN
Stimulates Fashion “Hollywood, more than ever, will be the world’s fashion centre when the creations of the screen’s stylists can be seen in their proper colours,” according to Helen Taylor, head designer for Walter Wanger productions. And Miss Taylor should know. She was tn charge of costumes for fihndom's first outdoor feature in natural colours. “The Trail of the Lonesome Pine,’’ which Paramount is distributing. In the estimation of Miss Taylor, “the brilliant eye-catching colours will be submerged in the future style trends.” From her experience in this motion picture, which features Sylvia Sidney, Fred Mac Murray, and Fred Stone, Miss Taylor arrives at these conclusions; “That women will learn to wear costumes that bring out their facial characteristics rather than wear vivid hues that draw Iho eye exclusively to the body or hat. “An for the screen, vivid colours detract from the dramatic action if they are allowed too much scope. In colour pictures, I think “The Trail of the Lonesome Pine” will very definitely establish the vogue for the film industry.”
