“CAIN AND MABEL”
Marion Davies’ next Warner Bros ’ Cosmopolitan starring vehicle, following “Hearts Divided,’’ will be “Cain and Mabel,” a musical picture based upon a story by H. C. Witwer. “Cain and Mabel” is the romance of a Broadway star and a boxing champion, whose names are linked for publicity purposes though they dislike each other very much— at first. The film wil be produced on an elaborate scale; a stellar east will support 'Miss Davies, and the production will be conducted by Lloyd Bacon, who has been identified with the production of such sucessful pictures as
“42nd Stret,” “Footlight Parade,” “Wonder Bar,” “The Irish in Us,” and “Devil Dogs of the Air.” Earl Baldwin is now writing the screen play of Cain and Mabel. So great is Marion Davies’ enthusiasm over Cain and Mabel that she is foregoing her usual vacation between pictures, and will begin work in her new role a eouple oi weeks after “Hearts Divided” is finished. The full cast will be announced in the very near future.
