By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 4. New employment-tax regulations occupying six full pages are published in thj Gazette to-night. They revoke previous enactments, apparently to give effect to the Employment Promotion Bill, which was recently passed in the House of Representatives. One of th<prineipal alterations is the deletion of the word “unemployment” and its sub stitution by the word “employment”— for instance, what hitherto have been known as unemployment stamps will be known as employment stamps.
Provision is made in the regulation.for receipt coupon books in the same manner as previously adopted, but in ith the mode of paymeir of the registration levy, filling-in of particulars in coupons may be dispensed with in any case whereby arrangements for the collection and payment of ii> stalments is made by the employer on behalf of persons employed by him In any such case the employer shan furnish such particulars as may be required. Total exemptions from the levy include war pensioners, while partial exemptions are extended to persons in hospitals and other institutions. The regulations also cover employment charge on salaries and wages by means of employment stamps.
