Miscellaneous Cases
The following cases were heard by Mr J. Miller, S.M., at the Hastings Magistrate’s Court yesterday; — Found on the premises of the Carlton Club ou a Sunday evening, Frederick West was fined £l, with 10/- costs. Senior-Sergeant Macnatnara stated that the defendant said he had entered the hotel to attend to repairs to a carpet, but the licensee said he had no right to bo in the hotel.
Matthew Parkhill was lined 10/-, with 10/- costs, for cycling on the pathway. Cycling at night without lights cost Lawrence AV. Heap and jack Alien each £l, with 10/- costs.
“This is a dangerous practice, even though you do put your hand our, for people are not expecting you to do it,” said His Worship when fining Alfred Paymond Stairmand £l, with 10/- costs, for turning a car in a street other than
nt an intersection. Sanior-Sergeant M.ncnar’arn said that just as the defendant turned his car in Russell street a bicycle collided with the rear of the car.
