Car Strikes Kerb
From Our Own Correspondent. WAII’AWA, June 3
A car driven by Mr Mason AlcCovinick, Waipukurau, had two of its wheels badly buckled when it struck the side of the curb, while turning into Waverley street at the Memorial Clock corner about 3 p.m. this evening. The wheels having wooden spokes suffered damage but the car itself escaped, and no-one was hurt. LODGE MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Ruatanivvha Lodge U.A.O.D. was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Waipawa. The 4-D. Bro. Jas Griffin presided over a good attendance Visiting officers aud brethren were present from Albion Lodge (Napier) and Eureka Lodge (Hastings). The D.P. Bro. V. T. Rouse of Albion Lodge. Napier, paid an official visit to the lodge. The D.P. installed the following officers in their respective chairs for the forthcoming term: J.P.A. Bro. Jas. Griffin, A.D. Bro. H. Smart, V.A. Bro. R. Martin, I.G. lister P. Watson, A.D.Bs. Sisters opargo aud Kemp V.A.Bs. Bros. F. Watson and 11. Carter. O,G. Bro. Harrington. He congratulated the out-going A.D. ou his performance during the recent ritual competition. The A.D. stated that Bro. Griffin had done really well against more experienced lodge officers.
