NEW SILK STOCKINGS
New silk sockings look particularly unattractive when they have been spotted with rain. Tho spots show up distinctly and tho silk wrinkles. To avoid this, allow tho stockings to soak in a bowl of cold water to which has been added u pinch of salt or a little lemon juice. The stockings should be treated in this way before they are worn for tho first time. Grass stains can be removed Mroin stockings by applying a little syrup and then washing them. Tar stains may be removed from silk stockings with a little lard applied by means of an old silk stocking. Remove sea water stains with hot milk before washing.
