♦ n. • . Short Sitting By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 2. The Legislative Council met this afternoon. Two weeks’ leave of absence was granted Sir R. H. Rhodes and seven davs’ leave to Sir W. Hall-Jones, both on the ground of illness. On the motion of the lender, the Hon. M. Fagan, standing orders were suspended to allow Government business in future to take precedence and Government Bills to be put through a* one sitting. The Shops and Offices Amendment Bill was read the second time pro forma and referred to the Labour Bills Committee. The Wellington Reclama t.iou and Empowering Bill was passed. The Council adjourned at 2-4 G.
