A new bridge over the Elbe at Doemitz, providing a direct link lor the Rhenisli-Wesipliaiian industrial area with Eastern Germany, was opened last month. A cannon-ball, believed to have been fired from a nine-pounder field-gun during the Civil War, has been found in the garden of a house at Lindficld, , Sussex.
