WEDDING

Duke—Frost, The wedding was solemnised at St. Luke’s Church, Havelock North, this afternoon, of Rhoda Christina, eldest daughter of Air. and Airs. A. Frost, Napier road, Havelock North, and Thomas Bruce, eldest son of Air. and Airs. J. B. Duke, Te Aute road. Havelock North. Tho Rev. Air. Jecks officiated at the ceremony, and Alajor Oldham played the wedding music, “O Perfect Lotq” being the only hymn sung.

Pink and white flowers were arranged in the church by friends of the bride, and pot-palms were also used iu tho decorative scheme.

Ivory panne velvet fashioned the gown worn by the bride who was given away by Air. Al. Alason, ot Waimara. ma. A simple stylo was chosen for the gown wmeh had a fitting skirt slightly trained at the back. Tne corsage had a cowled decolletage in front caught with a spray of orango blossom whue tiny velvet covered buttons were placed from neck to waist at the back. 'The sleeves were cowled abovo the elbows and then fitting to tho wrists and the wide sash was looped at tho back. A veil of ivory embroidered tulle fell irom a little ruched cap with a bandeau of pearls aud sprays of orange blossom at each side, ishe wore ivory velvet sandal shoes and carried a sheaf of ivory-shaded flowers and maidenhair fern..

The two bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Harvey and Aliss Jean Ebbett (Woodville). Their gowns were fashioned alike of delicate rose pmk cloque. each gown having a cowl collar edged with a narrow frill in front while the corsage was cut to a V at the back. The cowl was caught with a silver and diamante neck clasp. The sleeves were tight-fitting to tho elbows and then rucked to form a full flare to tho wrists. Silver girdles defined the waistlino and the sKirt at tho back fell into a slight train from four little waterfall trills. Silver shoes were worn ami each maid had a turban-shaped hat of the dress material with silver tulle brim and a silver flower in front. Their bouquets were of pink flowers with trailers of fern.

Air. Gilbert Powrio was best man and Air. Stuart Duke, brother of the bridegroom, groomsman. The reception was held at tho Selphast tearooms, where a pmk colour scheme was carried out in the decorations. The wedding cake, which was a gift from the bride's godmother. Airs. E. Shute, of Wanganui, was placed in the centre of tho bridal table and was admired by everyone. When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon tour of the North Island, tho bride travelled in a navy tailored costume with blouse of red checked shasta silk. She wore a navy hat, and navy gloves, shoes and handbag. Her squirrel necklet was a gift from the bridegroom.

Airs. J. B. Duke wore a navy blue costume with ravy hat and accessories and her posy was of scarlet flowers and fern.

Airs. Al. Alason wore a black fur coat over her navy frock and she carried a posy in red tones. Other guests were:—Air. A. H. Bale (Auckland), Mr. and Airs. Brinsley and Aliss Brinsley, Airs.
