“DISCOVERY OF GOD”

Addresses by Mr. Arthur Hill Two addresses of exceptional interest and ability were given on Sunday last by Mr Arthur Hill—in the aiternoon at the Hawke’s Bay Fanners’ Ladies Club Boom, and in the evening at the Havelock North Town Board Hall. The address of the afternoon on “The Discovery ot God” was really the first part of that continued in the evening on “The Power of the Indwelling Christ.” On both occasions the speaker took <ui unusual standpoint which could only have been reached through much meditation and an understanding of metaphysics far beyond the jrdiuarj. The thought was given that the only way in which to discover God was to look within. So many people set up a god of their own imagination and wondered why they got no satisfaction —they searched for Him, hut always in the outer senses. “God is a Spirit, and Spirit is Thought. God, therefore, is symbolised by Thought, and to the degree to which that Thought is individualised or limited by the confined vision of the Self is it a God or a human conception of perfection. God is and must be a vision of universal iipliftment, and this can bo manifested in the lives of the people instead of a vision of self-aggrandisement and tho narrowness of personal outlook. ’
