CONTROL OF HOCKEY

H.B. Association Meets KING’S BIRTHDAY TOURNEY Th* fortnightly meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Hockey Association was held last evening when Mrt A. D. Mahoney presided over a full attendance of delegates. That considerable interest is being shown in the King’s Birthday tournament was evident by the number of inquiries tabled at the meeting but as grounds arrangements had not as yet been confirmed all inquiries, were left to the chairman and secretary. Entrance fees were set as follows:— Men, (seniors 11/6, juniors 5/6), ladies (seniors 7/6, juniors 5/-) and no entries are to be accepted unless accompanied by the nomination fee. All teams playing at the High School, Hastings, must remove the nets from the grounds after their matches. The Napier Sub-Union forwarded the Hastings share of the art union and also enclosed an account for engraving which was passed for payment. Sundry other accounts were also passed for payment. A further letter from Napier with regard to the High School ground was referred to a sub-committee. Terms’for the rental of Nelson Park, Hastings, as submitted by the Borough Council were agreed to. A letter from the Hastings SubUnion with regard to the Nordon Cup was approved of and is to be forwarded to the New’ Zealand Association and the Hawke’s Bay delegates are to be instructed to support these amendments to the Nordon Cup rules.
