NAPIER INGLESIDE
Scots Foregather An attendance far larger than usual enjoyed the monthly ingleside of the Port Ahuriri Caledonian Society at the Buffalo Hall. Traditional Scottish dancing and a musical programme, well supported throughout the evening by the orchestra, were highly enjoyed. The Port Ahuriri Caledonian Pipe Baud made its first appearance at the ingleside, and the selections they played were heartily applauded. Dancing items were given by Miss Gladys Smythe and several of her pupils, the dances being arranged at intervals between the ball-room dancing. A number of artists appeared In vocal and elocutionary items, assisting to build up a programme which will go down as one of the most successful in the history of the society. Old-time and Scottish dancing met with favour. The organisers have every reason to feel gratified with the result of their efforts, for the evening was enjoyable from every point of view.
