ROAD CYCLE RACING
The Greendale Road Cycling Club carried out its 30-miles roud race for the Engert Cup on Saturday afternoon, notwithstanding that the weather was not all that could be desired. However, the roads were in good order, and good time was put up. The back-markers would probably have made a better showing had the weather been fine and the road firm all the way. The race resulted as follow:— I. Perkins (7min 30sees.) .... 1 J. Callaghan (3min 30secs.) .. 2 M. Lee (2mins) 3 The winner’s time was lhr. 28min 24 4-ssecs. Fastest time was won by J. Callaghan, his time being lhr. 25min 11 3-ssees. W. Williams, who filled third place and secured fastest time, was disqualified for changing machines with another competitor. The junior race for a medal presented by Mr C. Robson resulted:— 11. Robsou (“min 3050.e5.) .... I I). Engert (luiin lOsccs.) 2 R. Nicholls (30secs.) 3 Time, Ifimin; distanct, 5 miles.
