UNIONISM REVIVED

Drive at Hamilton (By Telegraph—Press Association.. Auckland, May 6. A movement is on foot to form branches of various unions in Hamilton, and a committee of Auckland trades union secretaries has been set up ta arrange a public meeting in Hamilton on Sunday, Alay 17, at which workers will be invited to join up with their respective industrial orgir.isations. It is anticipated that the. meeting will be a'llressed by a member of Parliament, possibly .Mr. C A. Barrell, M.P. for Hamilton, in addition to speakers from the ranks of tho industrial movement. In discussing tho position the secretary of the Auckland Trades and Labour Council, Mr. H. Campbell, said that at present there were practically no effective unions in Hamilton, although recently the drivers’ and carpenters’ unions had revived their branches there.
