MUSICAL CIRCLE
The monthly meeting of the Musical Circle of the Napier Townswomen’s Guild was held in the “Duck Inn’’ on Tuesday evening. Mrs Hosewarne was in the chair. After the disposal of the routine business a very enjoyable programme was presented, the musical subjects being the repertoire of the late Dame Clara Bull.
Tho leader, Mrs Rosewarne, gave a very interesting talk on Clara Butt s musical career and the following items were rendered: Piano solos, Miss Tannin; solos, (a) Fairy Pipers (b) Indian Lullaby, Mrs Sowter; duet, “Keys of Heaven,’' Mesdames Rosewarne and Sorrell; solo, “Song of Thanksgiving,’’ Mrs Cecil Nicholson; solo, “My Prayer,” Mrs L. Wood. The concluding item was a part song ' ' Land of Hope and Glory,” by the choir, all members joining in the chorus. The evening closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
