Heavy Cost to Government NEW YORK’S BIG SHARE (Received 23, 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 22. Although New York is the wealthiest State of the nation, it, nevertheless, is receiving 27 per cent, of the work relief funds apportioned by the Federal Government and yet has only a tenth of the nation’s population. The total allocation throughout the country for work relief is 4576 million dollars, and at the present rate it is expected that another 1000 million will be needed to finish out the fiscal year.
