YEAR OF SERVICE

The Women’s Community Club

ANNUAL MEETING

The Hastings Women’s Community Club has continued to make its good felt throughout the past year, as it has done in many previous years, and has given willing assistance to many good causes. That the interest of the members is well sustained was obvious by the excellent attendance at the annual general meeting, held in the clubrooms yesterday, when the annual report and balance-sheet were presented to the members. 'The balance-sheet was read and explained in detail by Mr J. A. Fraser, and the club's financial position was found to be a satisfactory one. Mrs T. H. She mentioned that one of the delegates, Lady Fergussou, had been president of the Dunedin club for 21 years, and she urged the delegates to tell their members that the best motto to think of was ‘Don't think what you get out of your club, but think of what you put into it.” Airs Lowry also said that she was privileged to visit the Wilson Home for Crippled Children. This home, though very wonderful, held only 5U patients, and as there were now oWO crippled children in New Zealand much very hard work must be done to raise funds to look after these children and, more important still, to care for them when they were well enough to be sem out of the homes.
