American Stations Coming In Well HASTINGS BRANCH MEETS A well-attended meeting of the Hastings branch of the DX Radio Association was held at the secretary’s residence. Two visitors were present.

Reports on reception indicate that the Australian and American stations are coming in at increased volume, and some good “catches” have been reported. 2QN which shares frequency with 4IP, 2KA on 1160 and 2AD on 1080 have been logged this week. Eastern stations are still poor, but the station ZJV, located in Suva, has been heard twice this last week by a member. Tho frequency is 880 k.c., the same as IY’K, Auckland The secretary reported that a number of members had pc.'d a visit to the Waipukurau branch of the New Zealand DX Club recently, and a competition had been arranged. This is for the branch returning most verifications in three months. Already competition is keen. A suitable tropny is to be purchased, the cost to be borne by both branches. The question of a competition for tho best verification between the two clubs is being held over in the meantime. A vote of thanks was accorded the boys of the Waipukurau branch for their hospitality. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with, and the remits from other branches for the annual general meeting, to be held at Christchurch at Easter, were studied.
