WELL-GROOMED WIVES
Most women have come to realise that a well-groomed wife docs as much to keep a home together as sparkling parlour curtains or overdressed children.
Don’t let your looks go down the drain with the washing-up water! The housewife’s work clothes are important. If you trail around in a dim dressing gown, you will feel unattractive, and apathy, the beginning of all ugliness, will set in. Overalls can be as attractive as an evening dress, and it is not a matter of cost, merely of selection. They can be made in a bright or quiet colour, buttoning or zipping straight up the front, with a wide loopover sash in a contrasting colour and a little turn-back collar and wide sleeves set on elastic round the wrist so they will push up easily. The material can be haid-wearing and washing and cheap—it is the style that matters. A good house shoe, rather like a schoolgirl’s, with i low heel and one strap, looks neat and keeps vour leet in trim for higher occasions Caps arc rather depressing, so if vmi want to cover up your hair from the dust, a head tied up in a bright hankie, like a workman's dinner, looks more attractive.
