High Standard in Australia ■ r Telegraph-Press Association.! WELLINGTON, March 16. The members of the New Zealand junior tennis team who have been playing in Australia returned by the Makura. They are N. P. Bedford. S. Painter, J. L Corich, J. W. Gunn anti R. G. I’attinson. In an interview Mr. Bedford said that the team found the standard of junior tennis in Australia very much higher than in New Zealand. Promising players were taken in hand when fourteen or fifteen and the result was some of them were wonderful exponents of the game. Sid Well, who was only fifteen, was particularly impressive. “Their volleying is miles ahead of ours, and as for stroking, some of them are wonderful,” said Mr. Bedford.
