AIR PAGEANT

South Island Event By Telegraph.—Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 13. The official South Island Air Pageant commenced at the North Taieri aerodrome to-day in glorious weather. Thirty-two ’planes, representative of 14 clubs in every part of the Dominion, and seven N.Z. Air Force machines, arrived during the day and now make an imposing array along two sides of the aerodrome. Competitions for the “Herald,” Bledisloe and Gloucester trophies were held during the afternoon, but the results will not be available until tomorrow. The pageant will be officially opened to-morrow, when a lengthy programme, including many spectacular events, will be presented.
