The public is advised that the sale at the Petane yards to have been held ou Monday, March 16, has been cancelled. Entries close to-night at 6 p.m. for the monster open sports meeting to be conducted next Wednesday evening, March 18, by the Hastings Amuteui Athletic and Cycling Club. Gosnell takes as his subject to-morrow evening in the Hastings Methodist Church, "At the End of Our Tether.” The choir will sing the choice anthem “By Babylon’s Waves” and a solo will be rendered by Mr A. J. Symonds, of Timaru. All who enjoy a bright and helpful service me heartily invited to attend. To-morrow will be a special day in the Baptist Church, when Harvest Festival services will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The Rev. C. B. Boggis will speak in the morning on “The Cross in the Cornfield,” and in the evening upon “Mad Farming.” There will be harvest music and choir anthems. A cordial invitation is given to all.
