INTER-CLUB SWIMMING

Inter-Club Championship Meeting As the 1935-36 season is about to come to a close the Hawke’s Bay Swimming Centre has arranged the first of an annual competition for interclub championship honours in the district of Napier and Hastings. The donation of a handsome cup by Messrs Henry Williams, and Son has added to the interest which will be created by the friendly rivalry for supremacy. Each champion club of its particular district is allowed three competitors in each eveuk ranging from juniors to seniors. At the conclusion of the championship meeting a small social gathering has been arranged at the Trocadero Tea-rooms, Napier, where presentations of Hawke's Bay Swimming Centre cups will be made, followed by musical items.

HERETAUNGA REPRESENTATIVES

The following team, as winners of the Rainbow Shield competition, will represent the Heretaunga Swimming Club in a contest against tbe Napier club to be held iu the Napier Municipal Baths on Tuesday evening next:— Schoolgirls, P. Campbell, B. Cox, P. Hennah; schoolboys, R. Morley, R. de Castro, A. Devinnie; intermediate girls, J. Mackay, K. White; intermediate boys, F. Sullivan, J. Mclvor, C. Wrightson, D. Thomson; ladies, E. Rainey, M. Shaw. M. Fryer; men, V. Hill, J. Farrell, M. Ashman, E. Doggett; junior diving, D. Thomson, R. Morley, B. Morley; senior diving, B. Wright, C. Thurlow, G. Geddis; intermediate breaststroke, R. Drummond; backstroke, V. Hill, J. P. Farrell; open breaststroke. Miss Z. Fryer, B. Wright.

The dives for the contest will be as follow: —Senior, low board: Header, backward, header forward with pike running and one optional. High board: Backward spring forward, dive B, header forward running, one optional. Junior, low board: Header, backward A. High board: Header, forward running B, one optional off each board For the convenience of competitors and club members a bus will leave the railway bus office, Russell street,' at 6.55 p'm. Any competitor arranging his or her own transport must advise the selector, Mr L. J. Fisher. Any member of the team unable to take part must notify the selector immediately
