AUSTRIAN SURPRISE
Hitler’s Proposal Welcomed OFFICIAL DISCLAIMER LONDON, March 12. “The Times” Vienna correspondent says a surprise has been provided by the “Reichspost,” organ of powerful Roman Catholic interests, which welcomes Herr Hitler’s offer. It says that Austria should not place any obstacle in the way of a return to au ordered neighbourly relationship with the kindred Reich.
The “ Reichspost’s” attitude is illuminating to those who think that Roman Catholic opinion is solidly antiNazi. Official quarters disclaim the article.
