Politics are still a topic of interest, even at a sale-yards, and at the Storti'ord Lodge sale to-day more than one auctioneer used the political situation as a means of enlivening his sales-talk. “Why,” said one auctioneer, “you’ve got a good Government now, plenty of grass, and here’s a good line of steers. Now, what will you offer me?” The price, however, seemed io be unchanged from last week’s values. “Now, stop talking about the Labour Party and get on with the business,” appealed yet another auctioneer, when one of his lines of cattle was not getting a very god hearing.
