Kereru Branch
The September meeting of the Kereni Women’s Institute was held in the Kereru Hall on Saturday, Airs. C. G. Averill presiding over a fair attendance of members.
The meeting opened with thq singing of the Institute Song. The roll-call, “How my head can save my heels,” was answered by all present. The Institute competition for the month was “Prettiest basket of flowers,” which was won by Mrs, L. B. Averill, Mrs. R. P. Kay being second.
Mrs. C. G. Averill was appointed delegate to the half-yearly meeting to bo held at Bay View in October.
An interesting competition arranged by Mrs. Johnson was won by Miss G. H. Rathie. The hostess for the afternoon was Airs. R. P. Kay.
