JOCKEY’S SENTENCE REDUCED
By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept. 16. The appeal of the apprentice jockey L. H Clifford, against the sentence of three months’ suspension imposed on him by the judicial committee of the Marton Jockey Club on September 7. was heard by the Wanganui district committee to-day.
After hearing evidence, the committee announced that they considered Clifford guilty of careless riding, and reduced the sentence to six weeks’ suspension, his deposit being refunded.
