PIGEON RACING
Napier Homing Club
The Napier Homing Pigeon Club opened its season with a flock race from Woodville, SO miles airline, 32 birds, from five lofts, competing. The results were:—
J. E. Maxwell’s “Promise” velocity 903.47 yards per min 1 A. Greenaway’s “Blackberry” velocity 903.13 yards per min. 2 J. E. V. Maxwell’s “Royal Solo,” velocity, 902.51 yards per min. 3 W. S. Strother’s “Monte”, velocity 899.16 yards per min 4 Frank Hobson’s “Sky Pilot,” velocity, 883.51 yards per min. 5 A. Greenaway’s “Raspberry,” velocity, 880.93 yards per min. .. 6
A flock race from Levin was also flown, 36 birds, from six lofts competing. The distance airline is 120 miles. Flying conditions were good as indicated by the velocity, which is excellent foi; so early in the season. Results: —
