CLIVE GRANGE SCHOOL
The monthly meeting of the Clive Grange School Committee was held in the school recently. Those present were: Messrs Manning (chair), Sourdon, Freeman, Lloyd, Chapman, McCormick (secretary) and Mr Cockerill (headmaster).
The social committee reported that the card evening on August 16 was quite a success, realising the sum of £1 14/-. A cheque was received from the Hawke’s Bay County Council, being the jubilee subsidy. An encouraging reply was received from th* Education Board in answer to the coni mittee’s application for an adequate cycle-shed. Final arrangements were made for the school ball, which is to be held on Friday next. The engagement of an orchestra was authorised. Accounts amounting to £4 16/2 were passed for payment.
