HARRIER RELAY RACE
Napier-Hastings Run
The annual road relay race between the Napier and Hastings Harrier Clubs was held on Saturday over the Hast-ings-Napier highway, from Post Office to Post Office. Each team consisted of four men, and each man ran approximetely three miles, the change-over places being Mangateretere, Clive, and Awatoto.
Each club started four teams. The A grade teams ran off scratch for the Heretaunga baton, while the B, C, and D teams ran against - their opposite numbers, each of these teams being in receipt of a handicap. The Hastings A grade team retained the Heretaunga baton, defeating the Napier team by about 300 yards, but the Napier club won each of the other grades.
