COTTON PROPAGANDA

Woolgrowers Must Act (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 14. Samples of the propaganda which cotton manufacturers are distributing in England to the detriment of the woollen industry were brought back by Mr W. S. Bennett, New Zealand superintendent for Dafgety and Co., a passenger by the Mataroa, to emphasise the need for New Zealand woolgrowers to join growers in other countries in an advertising campaign in order to retain the market. Mr Bennett predicts a reasonably good season for wool, with some rise in price. General trade has improved in Britain, and Germany probably will be in the market for a reasonable amount. He believes that woolgrowers have little cause for fear of artificial wool, but it is imperative for them to counter subversive propaganda.
