The Chief Orphan, Mr. Donald Campbell, was in the chair, and the programme was quite up to the excellent standard that has been maintained throughout the season. The orchestra, under Mr. Chas. Bryant, took a large share in providing the evening’s enjoyment, and otheritems were given by Messrs E. E. Rivers (songs), Jim Warren (violin solos), Wood (recitations), Brough (songs), Jackson (songs), and Vio McPherson (cornet solos). There was a very hearty community sing also in the programme, and other items were given by the Citizens Band Brass Quartette, the Hastings Male Quartette, and by a trio consisting of Messrs Lord, Marsicano and Warren. The next korero will be the finale Of the season, and will take the form of a ladies’ night.
