LONDON, Sept. 12. The British Ryder Cup players, Padgham and Alliss, will fight out the final of the “News of the World’’ golt tournament. Padgham, in the semi-final, defeated R. Whitcombe, 4 and 3, and Alliss defeated Burton, one up, after beating Perry, the open champion, 4 and 3, in the fourth round owing to better putting. Padgham also eliminated C. Whitcombe in the second round at the nineteenth after a terrific duel. AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP CLEVELAND, Sept. 12. Lawson-Little reached the semi-finals of the United States amateur golf championship, defeating William McCulloch, 5 and 3, and George Voight, 4 and 3. Others who entered the semifinals with double victories were Goodman, Walter Emery, and Joseph Lynch. WAIPUKURAU TEAM The following team has been chosen to represent the Waipukurua Golf Club against Dannevirke in a match to be played at Maharakeke over the weekend.
