The task of picking players to represent the club is usually considered rather difficult, but the members of the Napier Bowling Club, at their recent annual meeting, found the preliminary one of picking the selectors just as hard. The chief difficulty lay in whether one, two. or three selectors should be elected. Finally, it was decided that, since with three selectors two usually combined against the other, thus causing ill-feeling, and with two selectors, it was often a case of “I’ll put your man in if you put mine in,” it would be better if they kept to a sole selector, as in the past, and the selector of the past season (Mr Percy Bear) was re-elected.
