RUGBY AT TAUPO

Garratt Shield Match Freni Our Own Correspondent. lAtl’U, June 21. A further Garratt Shield Kugby game was played at Taupo on Saturday between Taupo and Waitahanui, the former winning by three points to nit. Showery weather prevailed, and the game early developed into a forward struggle. The teams were evenly matched, although Waitahanui half the advantage in weight. The winners’ points came from a try by N. Komeka. Mr C. McLean, of Napier, refereed. Arrangements are being made for the Taupo Club team to travel to Te Haroto for a friendly match on Saturday next, and it is expected that a large number of enthusiasts will make the trip.
