RATTENBY MURDER
Stoner’s Appeal Rejected GREAT INTEREST IN CASE (Received 25, 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, June 21. Ruling out the plea that Mrs. Rattenby and Stoner should have been tried separately, Mr. Justice Hewart dismissed Stoner’s appeal without hearing the Crown and without permitting Stoner to give evidence. Crowds queued up for hours. Mrs. van der Elst, who has figured prominently in demonstrations against capital punishment, sat with Stoner’s counsel and paraded sandwichmen at the entrances.
