CLEARING SALE
120 Cows and Heifers
The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Assn., Ltd., report having held a very successful clearing sale of dairy stock, comprising 120 cows and heifers, on account of Mr G. C. Lowe, lluataniwha. The cows came forward in good order, were all tested, and all records were available to buyers. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk throughout. The cows were sold in two herds. Fiftyone, being the Tiuataniwba herd, were yarded in great condition, and all carrying good fat records. They averaged the good price of £4 17/-. The Norsewood herd of forty head were in harder condition, but not showing such good records,' and including a larger proportion of older cows They averaged £3 2/6 per head for all sound cows offered. In calf heifers sold at from £2 12/6 to £2, weaner heifers from picked cows £1 15/-. The following is the range of prices tor horses and implements sold.—Two draught mares £32, 1 90-gal. Alfa I.aval separator £ll, 1 spring dav £5. 1 saddle £4 12 6. 1 block drav’ £9. I I d.f. plough £7, 1 top-dresser £l7 111/-. 1 sow £4 12'6, 1 at £1 15'-.
