MANAWATU SHOW
Hawke’s Bay exhibitors at the Manawatu show were fairly successful. Mr J. N. Barrio (Otane), was second for Silver-Wyandotte cockerel, and second and third for pullets in the open class, and first and second for pullets in the utility class; also second for utility black Orpington pullet. .Mr G. C. Thornton (Clive), was second for Minorca hen, and commended for cockerel in the open classes. In the pigeon section Mr W. S. Strother (Napier) was first lor homer cock flown 500 miles; ano second lor bonier cock, under 12 months, flown 50 miles. Master N. Strother, in the junior classes, won first tor hen under 12 month's, and second for cock, under I'2 months. Other Hawke’s Bay prizetakers were: —Miss F. Hall (Takapau) third for white loaf and v.b.e. lor cotton crochet; Mrs H. B. Iggulden (Norsewood) third lor home-made soap and first and second for article made, from waste material; Mrs L. R. G. Donaldson (Dannevirke) third for tatting and first for sleeveless pullover; Miss M. Drummond (Dannevirke) first tor unspecified knitted article.
