SCOOTERS IN MERRY MOOD
The Scouters’ monthly meeting was held at Pukctapu Troop Hut on Wednesday, June 12. There was a good muster, twenty-seven being present. It was a cold night and the sight of a roaring fire gave us all a cheery welcome. All were sorry to hear ‘ ‘ Friar Tuck” was in hospital and also that “Long John Silver” was laid up. It would do a pessimist good to drop in at a Scouters’ meeting and imbibe some of the splendid spirit of comradeship that prevails at these meetings. In fact it sometimes bubbles over so much that the chairman has to call the members to order, so that the business may be done and that they will get home before morning. However, that is how a Scouters ’ meeting should be and if the same spirit prevails in your Troop room, there is nothing much wrong. The Display, which is to come off some time in early spring, was discussed, and an organising committee and a sub-committee for the Pageant were set up. Everyone was keen and assured us that they would put their backs into it.
