Cold Day for Napier Park FURS AND TWEEDS POPULAR The weather proved rather disappointing yesterday for the first day of the winter meeting of the Napier Park Racing Club, with the result that the attendance was not as large as might have been expected. However, the racing enthusiasts who braved the wind were rewarded with a good day’s sport and those who remained on the stand were well sheltered from the winds. Fur and tweed coats were worn by most people and collars were fastened high at the neck wherever possible. A few pretty suits reminded ono of the snappy styles now being worn, ana among the young folk especially were seen bright colourings in scarves, bags and gloves. klrs J. E. Gleadow, wife of the secretary, wore a tailored costume . of brown flecked Donegal tweed under a musquash coat, and a smart turban hat iu brown with a yellow feather mount. Mrs 11. W. Dalgleisn, musquash tur coat with collar or skunk worn over a beige brown ensemble, and a hat of the same shade banded with brown. Mrs Oswald Nelson, nigger brown tweed coat with high collar of sable fui and a dark brown velour bat. Mrs C. Haldane, tele de negro smartly tailored coat with collar and sleeves of Russian sable, and a pretty tangcr iuo tricorne hat. Mrs 11. Peacock (Waipukurau), brown and mustard flecked tweed ensemble worn with a marmot fur coat and dark brown hat. Mrs T. 11. Lowry, navy ensemble worn under a fur coat, and a navy hat finished at the back with a shaded blue quill. Mrs A. V. Morrin, brown and orange flecked woollen ensemble, a Kolinsky coat with collar of skunk and a fawn felt hat finished in front with a bright feather mount. Mrs R. H. Bettington, Sydney, green and fawn flecked tweed ensemble with a deep green polo-collared jumper and a deep green hat turned up at the back and fox furs.

Mrs Graham (New Plymouth), mink fur coat with trimmings on the sleeves of tiny tails, wore over a black frock with touches of golden yellow and a black off-the-face hat. Mrs 11. R. von Dadekzen, brown and yellow checked swagger suit and a brown beretta hat. Mrs Hobson (Hatuma), musquash coat worn over a brown tweed ensemble and a brown hat. Mrs E. T. R. Carlyon, fawn tailored coat worn with a nigger brown felt hat.
