' Interesting Afternoon e A good crowd gathered at the Young . People’s Hall, Heretaunga street, on \\ eunesday at a meeting of the Home > League, tne subject tor the afternoon | being “A Transioinied Woman.” The I meeting opened with a hymn and prayer. Adjt. Lamberton then welcomed • the visitors, membars singing a welcome song. Afternoon tea was served , by the hostess, .Mis Venables, and ’ helpers. The meeting was later handed over to Mrs Roberts and .Mrs Slater, both from Napier. Airs Roberts uead a few verses of scripture dealing with a transformed woman. Sue then related a true cx--1 pinenee of hers of helping a woman who was a drunkard to be transformed, 1 and she was now a credit to any Salvation Army corp. During the afternoon Mrs Slater sang very nicely two hymns, which were greatly enjoyed. Airs Sawyer, snr., oi Gisborne, gave an interesting talk on ‘‘What might have been,” which fitted in with the aiternoon subject very nicely. Thanks on behalf oi the Home League for the interesting afternoon were extended to Mrs Roberts and Airs Slater. Mis Sawyer, snir., who is leaving for her home in Gisborne on Thursday, takes the good wishes of the Hastings Home League with her. After the singing of another hymn Adjt. Lamberton closed the meeting with a prayer. Next week is a very special week, the subject being “A Scotchwoman,” led by Adjt. and Alts Goffin, of Napier. Thole will be community singing.
