Candidates lor Ministry Among those accepted for the ministry by the recent Methodist conference was Mr 0. E. Burton, M.A., ot j the tutorial staff of Wesley College, ! Raerata, Auckland. In addition to ins work in the universities of the Dominion, Mr Burton is well known as the compiler of the official records of the New Zealand regiments during the Great War. Another/ interesting caiununte was | Maharia Winiata, a young Maori from ! tho Urewera Country, wno enters Trinity College, Auckland, to pursue ; his studies at the Auckland University, I with a view to his entering the minisi try of the Methodist Church. The conference records show’ that there are 37 young men who are now pursuing their studies for the lull ministry of the Methodist Church in New Zealand, in addition to 15 who are studying to qualify as home mis- ; fionarics.
