Repairs to County Bridges APPOINTMENT OF RANGER f rom Our Own Correspondent. W AIPAWA. March i 1. The Waipawa County Council at its meeting on Monday last discussed at length the matter ot appointment of a ranger, and it was eventually <i • i cided to invite applications lor the position. Necessary repairs to the truss bridge near the Argyll school, to It timbal's bridge on the Kereru road, and the bridge near Worsnops on the Springhill road are to be carried out immediately. Consideration ot the engineer's report on timber bridges in the county, (which was published on Tuesday last), was held over until the engineer had completed his report on the remainder of the bridges in the county. ARGYLL FOOTBALL CLUB. At a meeting held on Monday evening last the Argyll Football Club, which came into being last season, decided not to continue, owing to the difficulty experienced m keeping a lull team in the held throughout the season. For portion ot the playing season no difficulty is experienced in fielding a team, hut with the coining ol tho tanners’ busy times many ol the players are unable to take the necessary tune oil.
