WEDDING

Joyce—Bishop A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the home of the Glide's parents last evening, when Hermione, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bishop, Grove road, Hastings, was married to Thomas Earlo Joyce, of Hastings, son of Mr. Edgar Joyce and the late Mrs. Joyce, of Masterton. The Rev. D. J. A. Shaw officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming gown of primrose pebblo ray pique patterned in blue, white and berkeley brown. The bodice had a V neckline and epaulettes over the shoulders forming a cape at the back. The skirt was fitting to the knees and then flared fully and a sash from the sides of the waist was tied at the back. Her hat was of blue summer felt and she carried a bouquet of asters and asparagus fern, all the bouquets being made and prseented by Mrs. J. Smith. The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Bishop and Miss May Swiggs, whose frocks were cut on lines exactly' re sembling the bride’s gown, the former being of floral drawn thread voile in shades of white, pink and blue and the latter of blue striped ottoman silk. Their shoes were white and they wore head bandeaux. Each carried a bouquet of asters and wore the bridegroom’s gift, crystal necklaces. Little Ngaire Pryce, the bride’s niece, was a dainty little flower-girl in a frock of rose pink crepe de chene with frilled skirt, tiny epaulettes and a wide sa e h. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Wilfred Smith, and Mr. Stanley Hunter was groomsman. The wedding reception was held in the Orange Hall and here the guests admired the beautiful wedding cake which had been made and given to the bride by her sister Mrs. Pryce. After the breakfast everyone danced to music supplied by Mrs. Spiers and Mr. McCarthy. The bride’s mother received the guests, her frock being of bottle green floral crepe de chene worn with a plain green coat and green bangkok straw hat. When the bride and bridegroom left by car for their honeymoon, to bo spent in the south, the bride travelled in an ensemble of peacock blue marocain, with kilting finishing the threequarter sleeves and hem and a hat of the same shade.
