Amendments to the Bill RESULT OF CRITICISM Government Party Caucus ! Bv Telegraph—Special to "Tribune." WELLINGTON, March 14. As suggested last evening, amendments are to be made to the Rural Mortgagors Final Adjustment Bill as a result of criticism directed to the bill at the caucuses of the Government Party. The Minister of Finance at present is engaged in considering pos- ; sible amendments, and the nature of ■ these will be outlined to the House | when Mr. Coates moves the second reading of the Bill, probably tomorrow. Commenting on the caucuses, the Prime Minister said that the discussion's had been carried on without any heat. It was certainly true that some members did not like the provision I about 20 per cent, equity, but it had I to be remembered that 20 per cent, was the maximum. He indicated that the Minister of Finance had undertaken to consider the representations made by members. Another caucus of the partv probably would be held this evening. A number of members of the Government Party met last evening ami discussed with Treasury officials and other Government experts several aspects of the proposed legislation.
