PERSONAL NOTES. Mr L. Reid has returned to Waipukurau after spending a holiday in Gisborne and the district. Mr L. Hawke, of Waipukurau, has returned after a holiday in the Canterbury district. Mr and Mrs J. C. Windle and son, of Waipukurau, are on a motor tour of the North Island The Rev. W. R. Hutchinson, accompanied by his wife, is at present on holiday. “Mr H. W. Turner will take the Rev. Hutchinson’s place at St. Andrew’s Church until he returns. TENNIS TOURNAMENTS. Waipukurau expects a large number of visiting tennis players on Saturday, for the Waipukurau Club’s annual tournament, from Saturday till Tuesday. The North Island championships begin at Waipawa on Tuesday next and end on Saturday week. This function Is attracting much interest in Centra! Hawke’s Bay, and the Waipawa courts will doubtless be crowded with local and visiting enthusiasts during tho tournament.
