FREEZING WORKS FIRE
Outbreak at Westfield By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, September 16 Damage estimated at about EIOOP was caused to the building, plant and stock at the works of the Westfield Freezing Co. by fire this morning. A good save was effected bv the Ellerslie, Mount Wellington an.] Oneliungn Fire Brigades, assisted bv the :-faff brigade, tin 1 fire bring eurlfined to one room on the top floor of the main block of buildings. Fire proof doors prevented the flumes from spreading to the other parts the building, and although the heavy doors were blistered by Hie heat, little water reached tho lower floors. The stock vas insured with Lloyds and the buildings with various local comonnics.
