22,945 Meals in 14 Weeks
This year’s activities of the Hastings Good Cheer Food Depot came to an end on Friday last. During the period of 14 weeks, 15,004 meals wore served to children, to adults 169; cooked rations issued to siek families, 2904; dry rations, 4868; total, 22,945 distributions of all kinds.
The following are the details of the concluding week: Children 1234. adults 14, cooked rations 184, dry rations 601; total 2033.
The following donations of food are acknowledged: — Messrs Crutehley’s, Sturrocks, Stortford Lodge bakeries, bread; Wilson’s bakery, bread, pies and buns; Miss Reeves, eggs; Messrs Thompson Bros., puddings; Mr A. Van Ashe, sandwiches and buns; Mrs W. A. Sutherland, eggs.
