Technical Old Boys still lead by one point from Marist and Hastings Old Boys, with the last-named one game •head. Playing at Hastings, Hastings H. 5.0.8. won from Havelock, and Has tings defeated Eskview by a substantial margin. At Napier, Technical won comfortably from Celtic after an even first half. Marist defeated Napier H. 5.0.8. by 14 points to six, and Pirates just scraped home from Tamatcf,. The final of the Napier section of the third-grade competition was at last determined on Saturday, when, after an exceptionally close match. Pirates defeated Technical by six points to three. Pirates scored their winning points in the dying stages of the game. The Hawke's Bay fourth-grade final, played at Hastings, resulted in a win for Hastings over Technical 0.8. by six points to three.
